Sunday Outdoor play

Okay...so at age 7, kyle has received his first "love note" from a cute little girl in his class. Ashley is her name, and they have actually had this little crush on each other since we moved here....She truly said to me one day that she wants kyle to marry her...I find this very to be soooo cute! So I pick kyle up from after school one night and he came running out to the car with this particular note in hand and a little timid on showing it to me...but out of true excitement he requested I pull the car over to the side of the road cause he had something so "awesome" (his words) to show me!...so being extremely curious i did. After shuffling around madly in his back pack out comes this note....Although he had to read it to me before i could peek for myself...soooo cute! this little note will be available to him again many years down the road..for it will be placed safely in his baby book!

Puppy Love

True Army Dedication

Alright..this is what Kyles FAVORITE past time is and that's playing army men..he will set hundreds of these little guys on any table that's not occupied at that moment and rein act the war...he completely tunes out everything or anyone that is around him and just plays...he has such a big imagination, I love it!

Awe..I found these cute Snowman dog Jammie's and I could not resist! ain't he cute..

Nice Visit from the Family

So for the very first time mike and I let the boys go to Michigan to stay with family for a whole week while we stayed in Tennessee. That was a very long week for me..I have never been away from them with that much distance between us..
They had a great time and was able to visit with there cousins they have not seen since we have moved. Uncle mike and Aunt Jennifer took A day off work to travel from Grand Rapids to Ortonville and spoiled the boys for the day....they played a bit with Brady and really was just happy to see everyone!
These pictures are from when the boys came home. Papaw, Nana, uncle Gregg and Aunt tamra stayed a few days to visit...we had a great time and look forward to seeing them all at Christmas.

Sunday Afternoon

Now that chase is getting older, we have giving him a little bit more responsibility around the house..one included helping mow the lawn when needed, except this was the first time I felt "okay" with him driving this machine on his own (probably a little over protected). But i think he felt like he felt like i was the poperotsy cause i kept running out and taking snap shots of him...and this second picture is the result of a hard days work at home on a Sunday...poor guy!

Thanks Giving in CHattanooga Tn

So, we did something a little different for Thanks Giving this year..we ventured over to Chattanooga Tn, were we visited the aquarium. Guess I was just tired of doing the same old routine. I'm glad we did..We needed a break from the business of our life's. even though its only about an hour and a half a way it was still refreshing to See the changing of the leaves and the mountains are beautiful on the way.
On the way home of course i always keep my eyes open for a neat strip mall..and guess what! I found one. Of course we had to stop. I Will say the troop was to tired to a walk around to long and we did not even buy anything but i wouldn't be female if i did not attempt right? We were home the Day of Thanks Giving so I was able to put some Cornished hens in the oven with all the side fixings and managed to make a homemade peanut butter pie! Then i believe after the boys watched the football game we popped a movie in and just spent the rest of the day together. Don't know if we will do that again, but it was something we all will remember!

Star Struck!

Yes, do not try to adjust your screen, that is Carrie Underwood!...this was really neat. We were randomly shopping in downtown Franklin and ran into her in of the the stores..chase as you can see was a tab bit nervous a probably felt embarrassed when i asked her to pose with him! But, he sure is glad i did now.....she was very sweet and very pretty!
If I remember corectly i said to myself...im dying my hair blonde and going on a diet!

Okay, lets catch up shall we?

Okay, so I have been a very bad blogger! this used to be one of my favorite past times on the weekends. But as we all know life gets in the way most of the time. We are all doing great! chase has started the 7th grade and kyle is doing good in 2nd grade.
We just celebrated chase turning 13 this past November! hard to believe he is Turing into a young man right before our eyes. He is a typical teenage boy with his cell phone always going off and the girl drama going on...wow, are mike and i even old enough to be dealing with this? it seems like just yesterday we ourselves were going through the same "stuff"...every time i blink the kids are 5 years older. We are having fun, keeping very busy with all our schedules...Now With Christmas approaching that has increased things here a bit...chase is no longer into cheap stuff. I do believe we have moved on to Electronics (yikes)..kyle is still pretty easy, at least for a few more years!

Vision

Do we have a clear vision of where we want our lives to go? Or do we just react to things as they happen? Sometimes we need to do a little of both. Without an idea of what we hope to be and accomplish, we may not achieve our full potential.

On the other hand, when exciting opportunities present themselves, sometimes the best thing to do is go with them, whether or not they fit perfectly into the plan we've made for ourselves.

I can spend a little time today thinking about how my daily activities fit with my goal. Am I spending too much time on distractions and not enough time on the things that will help me get where I want to go? Am I open to new opportunities when they present themselves?

Time will tell....

New Beginnings

One of the most wonderful things about being young is the sense that we still have the whole world in front of us. We haven't yet fixed our path one way or the other, and the horizon seems to extend endlessly before us. It's an exciting time.

Every choice we make in life closes off one or more possibilities. But choices can also open up possibilities. No matter what age we are, we can always look forward and imagine new paths that we might take.

No matter how old I am, there are always opportunities, always new things I can do!

Hook, Line and sinker!

Okay, So today was the big day for Chase, His braces were put on this morning and he did great! a little uncomfortable and those of you who have had that done can relate. It was such a weird feeling for me to see him laying there getting this done..I simply remember bringing him home from the hospital , teaching him to walk, rocking him to sleep, first day of pre-school and kindergarten, Know seeing this next turning point in his life, braces..When people say it "Don't blink" they mean it. Before I realize it we will be planning his graduation and looking for colleges..Wow time sure goes by fast.

Here are some pictures from the waiting room to the final step! Also, you know you are a true North Carolina fan when your braces match there team color! :-)

Rain Rain Go away!!!!!

Yeah well, we had a horrible thunder storm here today..We were expecting it but when it actually hits it is kinda intense!..After Chase got off the bus the skies were real dark looked scary. So I thought well, If i zoom up to get kyle at school and not leave him at after care today I wont have to run back out and worry about driving in the weather. Well, was I wrong! As soon and I mean a split second after I walked into school they were put on a lock down. That means no one in the entire school is allowed to leave, and yes the weather was that bad. The kids were all in hallway on there knees with there heads between their legs. Most kids were crying and some even threw up they were so scared. I must admit I was worried as well. Ive never been any where that I was forced to stay (as an adult I must add) . I was glad to see how the school handled such situation. Very impressive! I'm just Glad to be home and safe...As we sit in the hallway I had my arm around both of my kids, I felt relieved being there with them. And as I looked over at chase his eyes were closed and was praying...my sweet boy..That is a moment I will never forget.

I'm glad to home now where my kids are tucked in there beds.

Keeping perspective

When we're in the midst of a dreadful time, it often helps to remember that one day we'll be able to tell a great story about it, one we'll laugh at. We'll laugh because , in retrospect, what we thought was a crisis really wasn't so serious after all. Or we'll laugh because we made it through the crisis and came out stronger on the other side.

I'll try to keep my perspective, remembering that even the worst day is only one small moment in my life.

Tough Friday.

Well, I cant say that today was a great day for me..It started with a horrible thunder storm this morning..Milo freaked out a bit and Kyle was a bit scared..Chase had already been on the bus for 45 minutes so he was gone..I decided to keep Kyle home today for one I felt sorry for him and I surly did not want to get trampled on trying to get in the school door by a bunch of kids...

I had a list of things I needed to do..after the rain let up a little bit, Kyle and I ran a few must do errands that could not wait (unfortunately) and had to hurry back to get chase in time get him to his Otho appointment..That went okay..he had four spacers put in place for the braces to go on next week, also had a molding of his teeth made (I thought he was going to gag) and a few x-rays. By the time that was done the doctor said only soft foods and make sure we have Tylenol or Motrin on hand..so off to the store we go AGAIN...all the way there I hear nothing but "I wanna go home" not a good thing to say to me after a very rough beginning to the week and an even rougher start to the weekend...We just seem to have a lot of things going on right now all at once....always seems to happen that way. I am really trying to retain my faith and believe where a window closes a door will open..please , please , please let that be true!

Car trip ...4th tournament!

Just a few car trip pics from our drive back to Shelbyville this morning....Much to our surprise, we received a call this morning saying we had a game scheduled at noon...YIKES, we had to really hustle to get everyone out of the house by 10:30....Needles to say we made it in plenty of time.

Unfortunately we did not win this game...only 5 team mates were able to make the last minute game today so all the boys who did show up were VERY tired...

Not sure what happens next except practice next Sunday...

Basketball........

Well, defeated we were today..unfortunately we lost both games today..but they were intense. Chase did real well and scored 8 points total today, and I must say he sure does work up an appetite cause all he can think about is food when we leave...my little boy is a growing boy and sometimes its hard to keep up with his eating requirement's...I ll get it sooner or later..

Poor Kyle tried to be a trouper today but by the second game he fell asleep and slept for about an hour and half..plus he has a little cold starting.

These photo's were a little tough to take cause Chase does not like his picture to be taken so i have to sneak them in when I can.. He is number 10 in these pictures...
